As I Have Loved You Page No.10 The Secret of God’s Love

In addition to praying and asking for more of God’s love in our lives, there is a simple secret contained in the New Testament which shows us how to appropriate the love of God. I John 4:12 says this: “No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.” This truth is so simple, yet can be so easily overlooked.

God’s Word tells us that the secret to having His love perfected in us is for us to simply love one another. In other words, as we step out in faith, and begin to put God’s love into action, He’ll continually re-supply us with more of His love. So then, rather than waiting for a miraculous anointing of God’s love to come down upon us from heaven, we can start a new life today of walking in God’s unconditional love for one another. According to the verse quoted above, when we do this, we will experience God’s presence and love in our lives.
